NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!
For a number of reasons including genetic predispositions, trauma during tooth formation, and poor/ picky eating habits, children tend to be prone to dental issues. Despite having dental insurance, some children do not receive regular dental hygiene care, since their parents may not be able to take them to the dental office. Thus, Shine-1-1 Mobile Dental Hygiene comes to the rescue and provides mobile services for kids in Markdale and surrounding locations. Now children can easily get dental treatment near their homes or schools.

Many children suffer from tooth decay and its repercussions during their youth and into adulthood due to dental issues. Poor oral health can have a variety of effects on a child's growth and development. The child's general health is impacted by dental health, therefore it is crucial to take care of their children’s dental hygiene.
*the Shine-Bus has been very beneficial for kiddos (and adults) with dental anxiety!! Whether it is the atmosphere of hanging out in their comfy clothes and streaming their fave show on the big iPad during the treatment, or the fact they are at home and skip the waiting room of funny smells and sounds, most clients with anxiety do very well with Shine-1-1 Mobile Dental Hygiene. Reach out to Candy if you think this could benefit your child, yourself, or someone you know suffering with dental anxiety.
Our dental hygiene clinic for kids thoroughly examines teeth and gums visually and can help them to identify potential dental and general health issues, including possible vitamin deficiency, mouth-breathing and tongue-tie, bruxism (teeth grinding), and heartburn (of course referring to their medical / dental professional for diagnosis if required).

Try using some fun toothbrushes, timers, and disclosing tablets or mouthwash to show him where the plaque is on his teeth, otherwise, contact a registered dental hygienist for recommendations.
Ensure the child is brushing very well, if no change or if it’s been more than 6 months since their last cleaning and checkup, it’s time to see a professional registered dental hygienist.
The reason can be just a yellow shade of enamel, or thin/ hypocalcified enamel, but is often a lack of oral hygiene or improper oral hygiene. It’s recommended to see a registered dental hygienist to assess and treatment plan accordingly and receive proper oral hygiene instruction.
Ideally, plaque is removed from tooth surfaces by brushing twice a day every day. But if this does not remove the plaque then you should take your child to a registered dental hygienist or a mobile dental hygiene clinic can come to you for a checkup and cleaning. Plaque that has mineralized/ hardened cannot be removed with home care procedures.
Teeth Whitening is not advised for children under 12-16 depending on the brand and product used.
